Ancient Signals is a long-form visual research project: a series of cinematic essays that sit between documentary and speculation, always anchored in the archaeological record.

The question

Every episode begins with a site, an object or an anomaly that resists a simple explanation — and with the discipline of asking what the evidence actually supports.

The research

Excavation reports, dating methods and published papers form the spine. The visual language is built only after the factual frame is set.

The image

Reconstructions are treated as cinema: composition, atmosphere and pacing carry the experience rather than exposition. Light and silence do the storytelling.

Case study imagery and detail are placeholders, updated as the project develops.
